    Ergonomics are frequently ignored, but important features of PC workplace. The office of Labor Statistics reports that poor ergonomics contributed to 29 percent of all work injuries in 2007. Ergonomic standards for PC workstations are more than just appropriate tools; they also contain good body movement.

    Identification

    1. Ergonomics is a field of health science that discovers methods to match the local environment to make people more relaxed, as said by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Ergonomic standards for a PC workstation give an instruction to decrease stress on body that frequently comes with sitting and staring at a PC for long periods of time.
    Types

PC workplace ergonomics have standards for modification and position of PC hardware, and exercises and stretches that one must sometimes execute, as said by Division of Occupational Health and Safety. Exercises are free and so most tools standards, but to get most ergonomically standard PC workstation special ergonomic hardware may be required, like an adjustable height chair.

    Ergonomic Exercises

    lubrication, said by Division of Occupational and Health Safety. For eye strain, close eyelids and move eyes up and down and left to right. To reduce stress on hands, sit down, loosen the arms and then shake them downward. Stretch the wrist by pulling hand backward for 20 seconds and then forward for 20 seconds.

    Be at the same distance from your eyes as the display screen to avoid frequent changes of focus and you should be able you to look from one to the other without moving your neck or back.

    A footrest should be used if, after adjusting the height of the chair, feet do not rest flat on the floor.
