LCD monitors are better to their older CRT counterparts in about every way, but that does not mean that LCD monitors never have problems. General problems with LCD monitors are a dead pixel. A dead or stuck pixel is a pixel that is either permanently off or permanently stuck on one color, namely blue, red or green. Dead pixels can be annoying, but frequently you can repair LCD monitor's dead pixels on own.

Instructions

1. Step 1

Download Dead Pixel Tester (DPT). It is a free part of software that will help you find dead pixels. The program offers various background colors and patterns that will make any dead or stuck pixels clear. If monitor is still under warranty and you have adequate dead or stuck pixels, qualify for a substitute monitor.

2. Step 2

Find your dead or stuck pixels. Clear screen and set PC's resolution to LCD monitor's native resolution. Open DPT and close the menu by pushing "Escape" key on keyboard. Scan screen for any pixels that are not black. Click to alter the background color and scan again. Utilize "M" key to mark any dead or stuck pixels you get.

3. Step 3

Open the JScreenFix applet. The applet is browser-based, so do not download any software other than Java to run it. The applet will show a rapidly moving color pattern allow to repair your stuck or dead pixels.

4. Step 4

Place that applet over dead pixels. The applet not has to be big to cover pixel, but you can resize it if you have many dead or stuck pixels that are remote from each other on LCD monitor.

5. Step 5

Allow applet work for 20 minutes. Leave LCD monitor on with applet running. You can utilize PC as applet is running, but you want to avoid placing anything in region of applet, like mouse cursor. After 20 minutes, the pixel must be working well. If it is not fixed, go to the next step.

6. Step 6

Attempt rubbing the pixel back to life by you. This answer can cause harm to
monitor if you are not alert, so only utilize it as a last resort. Wrap a part of fabric around a big pen or marker. Affect small pressure to region of dead pixel on LCD monitor. Keep applets running in similar spot and massage area for some minutes? Check monitor to see if you dead or stuck pixel has come back to life.
