How to Find a Compatible Printer Driver for Microsoft Vista

If you have a printer attached to Vista that has worked fine, but unexpectedly stopped working, you want to update printer driver. Also, if you are trying to install a new printer on PC, but Vista cannot "see" it or it just does not work, updating printer driver may solve these problems. You can find a well-suited driver and install it in Vista.

Instructions

1. Step 1

Go to "Start" and type "Printers" in "Start Search" box." Click on "Printers" below list of programs. The "Printers" window appears.

2. Step 2

Find printer for which you want friendly driver. Right tick this printer and pick out "Run as Administrator."

3. Step 3

Click on "Properties" of a "User Account Control" window appears showing that Vista wants authorization to continue, click "Continue" button. Then enter user password if they asked to enter password for Windows account. The "Properties" dialog box for that printer will open independently.

4. Step 4

Go to "Advanced" tab. Click "New Driver." The "Add Printer Driver Wizard" will appear. Tick "Next." Choose make and model of printer and tick "Next."

5. Step 5

Press "Finish" button to close wizard and finish printer driver installation. Close "Properties" dialog box and "Printers" window. Reboot PC to finish driver installation.
