It is a kind of storage device. It holds various types of data like documents, pictures and music files, and can be shared between PCs. It refers to a brand name, and can be found below companies as Sony and SanDisk. They are variety in capacity, and are about an inch and a half to two inches long. After you move data to PC, you can delete it from memory stick.

Instructions


1. Step 1

Attach data transfer cable to device. One end will have a connector that fits into a plug on device. Occasionally it takes trial and error to find the right plug.

2. Step 2

Connect USB end of cable into a vacant slot on PC. USB is a way for device to talk to PC. The place of USB port differs from PC to PC. Some are on front, some are on back and some have both.

3. Step 3

Turn on machine. After you give power to device, or PC detects USB device has been connected, you will get a popup. The popup will ask you what you want to do with memory stick. We select choice that tells to view folder in which the files are. Double-click to open.

4. Step 4

Select a file in folder by clicking on it. If you don’t need to save file, click "Delete". It will ask if sure you want to delete; if you are, tick "Yes."

To save file on PC, make a new folder. Right-click on a blank space go to "New," then clicks "Folder." Give name to folder. Then click the file again. Click and drag file into folder you made. This copies the file over. After you have copied it, remove it. Remove it from memory stick, and not folder you copied it to.

5. Step 5

Detach cable from machine by turn off machine. You can then remove the cable from PC and from device.
