CPU is the virtual "Brain" of PC. Any keystroke, mouse click, or command has to go through processor. The more controlling the processor, the more you can do with PC. Main thing behind power of any given processor is speed, given in ratings of MHz or GHz. If you don't know speed (GHz or MHz) rating of processor, here's how to find out. These instructions will work for any processor and any Windows Operating System.
Instructions
1. Step 1
Start Windows Start Menu. This menu is main means for go through Windows computer. After inside, click on "Run" button.
2. Step 2
Type the "dxdiag" in text entry field. Dxdiag is a Windows diagnostics tool created for reason of reporting detailed information about type of parts in PC and their existing status. Push "OK" and wait for the tool to initialize.
3. Step 3
Click on "System" tab and browse "System Information" sector. About halfway down list you will see a listing for "Processor." To right of this will be processor model number (Intel Pentium II) and requirements. These requirements will contain MHz rating.
