Facebook recently became a very popular name in the world of social networking sites. It is a great site to stay connected with friends, though for new users, it’s a bit confusing. Here’s an article showing how to create an Facebook profile.

• Step 1

Click the web brower icon to start it. In the navigation bar at the top, enter the” Welcome to Facebook | Facebook “ in the address bar. The Facebook homepage will open.

• Step 2

Find the sign up option available at the right hand side on the home page.

• Step 3

Fill the information in their appropriate locations such as "First Name", "Last Name", "Your Email", and "New Password". Then click on the drop down "Select Sex" menu as well as "Birthday" menu.

• Step 4

After filling up all the information, pres the "Sign Up" option.

• Step 5

After clicking on the "Sign Up" option, the "Captcha" box will come up. The reason of this box is to save any virus from accessing Facebook. Enter the text given in the box in the box available. This ensures that you are a human. After doing that, click on the green "Sign Up" option.

• Step 6

The find friends option will pop up. Meaning that Facebook connects to the email and scans address book for email addresses listed on Facebook. This is not compulsory though; just click on the "Find Friends" option. Click on the "Skip this Step" option, if you don't want Facebook to connect with your email account.

• Step 7

Enter the name of the High School attended with the graduation year in a drop down menu. After all these, if you want to publish the Company name you work for, enter it in the box. After that, click on the "Save and Continue" option.

• Step 8

Upload the image for you want for your main profile. It will be visible to everyone so select wisely. For selecting an image, click the "Upload Photo, from your computer" button. A menu will pop up; hit the "Browse" option there which in turn will take you to the picture gallery on your PC. Select the image and click on the "Open" option. It will upload the image. Then click on "Save and Continue" option.

• Step 9

Now look for your friends. There are various ways of doing it. Connecting with your email is one of them. It is a handy way to find friends if having a lot of address book contacts in the email account. Another option is to look for friends or family is by name. Just enter the name of the person and hit the Search icon. A list of names will appear with the person's image. Click on the "Add Friend" option if you find the person you’ve been looking for. You can add numerous friends following the same process.

• Step 10

You can also "View and Edit Your Profile". Your gender and birthday are listed there already. Next is the "Current City", "Hometown", "Home Neighborhood", "Family Members”,” Relationship Status", "Political Views", and "Religious Views" etc. After that click the boxes to put checks near the items that apply in the "Interested In" and "Looking For" columns. After doing all these, click on the "Save Changes" option.

• Step 11

Click the "Personal Information" button. Enter desired information in the following columns like "Activities", "Interests", "Favorite Music", "Favorite TV Shows", "Favorite Movies", "Favorite Books", "Favorite Quotations", and "About Me". Then again click the "Save Changes" option filling all the information.

• Step 12

Same is applicable for the "Contact Information" and "Education and Work" columns. Fill out all the information you want to display to your friends. Press the "Save Changes" option once you are done.

• Step 13

For privacy settings, restricting the amount of people able to see the profile, click the "Settings" tab at the top left of the window next to the search bar. A menu will pop up and select the "Privacy Settings". Click on all the columns of the privacy settings that are visible.

• Step 14

Most of your Facebook profile is ready. For getting started on connecting with friends and family, use the search bar at the top left of the window. Look for them via their first and last name. If their image is in the search results, add them as friend by clicking on the "Add Friend" button.

• Step 15

To logout of the Facebook, go to the top left hand side of the window. Click on "Logout" option near the search bar. This saves other peoples who use the PC.
