How to Install Verizon Access Manager for a user with limited privileges; standard user account
Verizon Access manager is tool to permit roaming road warrior PC users access to e-mail and other business application as on road. They can access corporate VPN, and utilize it for almost any internet application probably from most anywhere around US. Many models of USB, PCMCIA, Blackberries, and other phones are presented that will work with Verizon Access Manager Program. Giving access to corporate functions does not mean you want to open PCs to extra safety threats. This explains how to install software for a user with a restricted right user account on PC. If you install software setup by just right click and run as administrator the application will provide runtime errors when running.
Instructions
1. Step 1
This works with all editions of Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7. Go to control panel and open user account applet. If user is listed edit user and make them an administrator momentarily. If they are not listed click add and include user account, add domain information in given field. Make the user account an administrator from drop down list.
2. Step 2
If you are now logged in as user when you affect modifications to PC will prompt you to log off. Log off and login as user who will be using software. Now that they are a temporary administrator of machine, install Verizon Access Manager. Connect device whether a Blackberry, USB card etc. when prompted. Let it finish installing drivers and check that you can attach.
3. Step 3
Go to control panel and access user accounts. Choose user and create them a standard user or power user. Leaving them as an administrator will ask problems. You will have less visibility with domain policy and virus scanning software. Giving them restricted privs will avoid exploitive web and e-mail viruses from being installed accidentally. After modifying you must log off again.
4. Step 4
Log in as user again. Check connection to Verizon’s network. Now you have a latest road fighter machine.
