How to Attach a Document to an Email in Microsoft Word: Sending Attachments for Beginners Only
It is easy with some clicks of mouse; document will be attached to an email and on its way across internet. There are many methods to attach documents to an email steps for two options are outlined below.
Instructions
1. Step 1
OPTION 1: Set up Microsoft Word document you are going to send. That is, ensure all information you want to send is integrated in document that you have completed a spell check, that it is formatted properly.
2. Step 2
Save the document by selecting FILE menu. Then choose "Save As" from drop down menu.
3. Step 3
Click on "Save As." Initially, select where you want to save file see "Save In"
window at the top of window? This is where you choose where on PC you would like to save document. If you click on "Save In" window, a list of all places you can save it will show a drop down menu. After you have selected, go to window titled "File Name." Now type name of document, date, and initials so that you and person you are sending file to can instantly identify what it is. If you want to save document as something but a Word file, click on little arrow on right side of that window and make choice. Then click on "Save" and document will be saved to file you chosen by name you selected.
4. Step 4
Hover cursor to tabs then select FILE. Now move cursor to "Send To" on drop down menu.
5. Step 5
Click on "Send to" Drop down menu shows, right beside first. This menu will give option to "Mail Recipient ". Select that option. In a second or two, a blank email will show on screen and document is in "Attach...” You must now type in email address of recipient, and, if you want, a note in text box. When you are ready then click on "Send."
6. Step 6
OPTION 2: Get ready and store document you want to email.
7. Step 7
Click on "start" and then tick on email icon. When email opens, tick on "new", and a new blank email will show. Fill in recipient's email address, subject, and message. Then, click on paperclip icon. A new window will open, and permit you to select place of your file and file name you want to attach.
8. Step 8
After you find the file click on it then click on "Insert". You see that selected file attached to email.
