When building PC system, some PC builders select for an on-board video display adapter. Though, some motherboards are intended without an included video connection. Equally, some PC builders prefer to install a custom video display adapter as an on-board video display adapter not meet necessities of a software program or video game program intends to use. Whatever the reason, a video display adapter can be installed with relative ease into most minitower, tower, or desktop PC systems.

Instructions

1. Step 1

Open PC case. Find slot into which graphics card will be connected. Locate equivalent slot on PC case, and take out metal dust cover. For a PC case that has dust covers that are held in place by screws, set retaining screw for this dust cover aside.

2. Step 2

Make sure that card is aligned with opening in the back of PC case. Connect the graphics card into equivalent slot. Put back the screw that detained dust cover in place, and close PC case.

3. Step 3

Boot up PC. The operating system will notice the new video display adapter, and it will ask for a driver CD or installation directory. Put in driver CD and PC will install the needed software.
