There are two methods to clear and reset CMOS Memory area where BIOS is contained. The method that is utilized based on state of PC. Here list two different ways in which to reset CMOS area. Also tips on caution as doing tasks.
Instructions
1. Step 1
The initial method is utilized when all is mainly working as it must, but for some reason, trying to twist system, some setting were modified in BIOS.
To achieve goal in this method, you just restart PC. Press button that takes you into BIOS Setup Area and choose choice to load default setting. Lastly save and exit. This will load factory settings and reboot PC.
2. Step 2
The substitution method is more detailed and utilized only when PC is down as of inappropriate settings in BIOS. You want to utilize great care and caution when using this method.
3. Step 3
initial step in another method would be same pre-cautionary measure any time you take out cover from PC. Before removing cover, ensure that you are not wear any item of clothing, wool sweaters that create static electricity. Also ensure you are grounded.
4. Step 4
Detach all that is attached to PC. That contains monitor, printer, Ethernet cable, all USB connections, and power cord.
5. Step 5
Now take out cover from PC. Take hold of frame for a moment as it is grounded and will consume static electricity from your body.
6. Step 6
Find motherboard battery. This is backup power for CMOS memory. That is where BIOS information is saved. Take out battery for motherboard. Allow PC sit for about 30 minutes and then change battery, cover, and reconnect all.
7. Step 7
If battery is hard to remove of is lost, then ask the motherboard manual to find jumper that consumes that in essence break connection between battery and CMOS. These will successful consume power from CMOS. Use manual to for appropriate setting of jumper to achieve that goal. After set that jumper, let it be for 30 minutes. Put jumper back in its original position. Change cover and again connect all devices and power cord. Reboot PC.
8. Step 8
When you turn on PC then prompted to go to BIOS to make proper setting modifications or to avoid that and utilize default settings. Utilize default setting. The clock which will also want to be set can be set after OS has been loaded.
9. Step 9
