Upgrading motherboard and CPU on a PC look hard for many people. Though, truth is that about anybody can install a new motherboard and CPU into their PC with a little bit of preparation. All it takes is overcoming fear that many people have when opening up a PC case. The good part is that by installing a new motherboard and CPU, you will save a much money and get big performance developments.
Instructions
Preparing for Installation
1. Make sure that motherboard and CPU are well-suited, before starting installation.
2. Clear a workplace that presents much space and light to work.
3. Mount brass metal stand-offs into vacant case. These stand-offs will make space among case and motherboard. Be sure to decide first which stand-offs need installation, as there will probable be more slots in case than in motherboard.
Installing the CPU
4. Open CPU socket. Generally a plastic handle in all that wants to be raised to unlock socket.
5. Line up CPU so that it slides softly into CPU socket. There must be no pressing necessary. Usually, there will be one corner that is utilized to guide alignment. This corner will have no pins and will write to corner in socket that is also without pins.
6. Lock CPU socket by lowering the plastic handle.
Installing the Heatsink and Fan
7. Apply a thin layer of thermal compound straight to CPU, if necessary.
8. Handle the heatsink and fan onto mounting hooks placed at bottom of CPU socket.
9. Connect fan power source into proper motherboard power slot.
Installing the Motherboard
10. Line up motherboard with brass metal stand-offs that were formerly installed.
11. Screw down the motherboard at every point.
12. Mount the I/O plate to rear of PC case, allying the open slots with their equivalent parts on motherboard.
