You may contain a box full of old records of favorite music sitting in a closet someplace, but many people do not own working record players these days, and it's hard to bring records with you when you are on go. Fortunately, there is a way to convert original disc records into digital media files on PC.

Instructions


1. Step 1

Connect USB turntable into PC by USB cable given. A USB turntable can be bought at many big-box electronic shops.

2. Step 2

Put in Audacity software installation disk.

3. Step 3

Wait for installation wizard to start. Accept license agreement, and then finish
remaining steps to complete installation.

4. Step 4

Start Audacity, either by choosing from desktop or by go to "Start," "All Programs," then "Audacity."

5. Step 5

Choose "File," then "Recording Settings." Change settings to USB "line-in option" and
tick "OK."

6. Step 6

Switch on the turntable and put the record on top. Earlier than song to play, click
"Record" button in Audacity. This starts the recording process.

7. Step 7

Click "Stop" after song has completed, then choose "File," "Save as WAV." Give name to the song and choose a save place; click "OK." The song has now been changed into a digital file. Perform again this process with all songs on vinyl record.
