Thumb drives, also called as flash drives or jump drives, are tiny, handy USB memory storage tools. They are tiny enough to fit in a pocket and have started to substitute floppy disks and compact discs.
History
1. Firstly flash drive was made by Trek Technology and IBM in 2000. The original model could only hold 8 megabytes of memory.

2. The general utilize for thumb drives is for moving data. Data can simply be saved to a thumb drive and moved from PC to PC
Fakes
3. Most people sell fake or finish thumb drives. Many of these bogus thumb drives have less memory than advertised or just do not work.
Memory
4. The memory capability of thumb drives has improved over the years. Current thumb drives can hold up to 256 gigabytes of memory. That is over 32,000 times more memory than original 8 megabyte thumb drive.
Disadvantages
5. Thumb drives are restricted in many times that information can be written and deleted before they not succeed. Means that over time they will finally wear out and stop working. Also, due to their tiny size, thumb drives are easily lost.
