Connecting the Printer

1. Step 1

Attach PC to a particular printer. Based on construct, model and year of PC, there will be various cords and plugs that attach from printer to PC. Most new PCs utilize USB cables. Ask PC sales representative which cord to utilize. If you want to utilize a wireless connection, be certain to ask what machine you want to purchase to allow this.

2. Step 2

Way to a printer from PC. Instructions for doing this will differ based on operating system which you are used. If you are in Windows, tick Start button. Go to "Settings" and then "Printers." Tick "Printers." Macintosh users, see "Resources" for a link to instructions.

3. Step 3

On the two-column screen left part shows list of folders, right part shows list of printers. There is a button on top "Add a Printer." Click "Add a Printer."

4. Step 4

On the next two screens, tick "Add a Local Printer" and "Use and Existing Port: LPT1 (Printer Port)."

5. Step 5

A list of printers will show, click printer that reflects the construct and model of one to which PC is attached.

How to Print


6. Step 1

Click "File". Then click "Print." If "Print" button is unseen, click the down arrow of pull-down menu.

7. Step 2

Ensure that printer from which you want to print is chosen in top pull-down menu.

8. Step 3

Use options displayed in menu to choose which pages you want to print and how many copies.

9. Step 4

Click "OK."

10. Step 5

Use keyboard shortcut to print. Push the "CTRL" and "P" keys at once or the "Option" and "P" keys if you're using a Mac.

11. Step 6

Use printer icon in toolbar if you want a one-step procedure for printing. Search for a small image that looks like a printer on screen, and click it. If right printer is chosen in printer dialog box document will print to that printer automatically. This is a perfect choice if you do not want to choose particular pages or make many copies.
