Though, eventually, keyboard catches dirt. Not to mention germs that may have come from hands of various users of PC. Here are steps on how to clean desktop keyboard. This could also help you save money.

Instructions

1. Turn off PC. It would not be good to work with wet cleaning materials as PC is on. Security must always be examined.

2. Detach keyboard from PC; remember where it was attached so that you would not have difficult time putting it back.

3. Turn keyboard over and shake it softly. This would permit loose dust and dirt to fall off ground. Also tap keyboard but do it in a soft manner.

4. Using a blower or any compressed air, get rid of dirt in between keys of keyboard. After doing so, turn keyboard over again and shake it softly to get rid of loosened dirt.

5. Clean keyboard using a part of clean cloth or swab. Never submerge keyboard in water if it is dishwasher safe. On a cloth or a swab, put a cleaner. Clean surface of keyboard by faintly pressing cloth or swab over keys. Do not press too much to prevent liquid from dripping on keyboard. Do not utilize rough or scraping action when cleaning, this removes labels on keyboard.

6. To clean the space below keys of keyboard, utilize a cotton bud to clean them. If there are sticky liquids below keys, you could put cleaning liquid and clean it. If keys of keyboard are detachable, take out them and clean area below them better.

7. If there is still dirt around edges of the keys, attempt using an alcohol-based cleaning agent. Rubbing alcohol also utilized. Be careful that this type of cleaning agents could remove labels on keyboard.

8. To clean keyboard, utilize Lysol or products like this. On a new part of cloth, spray some cleaner. Clean surface of keyboard softly. Prevent cleaning too strong to prevent injuring labels of keyboard.

9. Let to dry keyboard by air drying or any other device, if needed, before connecting it back to PC.
