2. Step 2

Detach anything that is attached to PC. This is so there is not a possibility of a surge as you are working in PC. Things that are usually attached to PC are monitor, printer, network cables and power cord.

3. Step 3

Take out cover from PC. Hold framework for some minutes. This will consume any of static electricity already built up in you.

4. Step 4

Think that you have PC that was created in decade; hard drive will be placed in area. That will be in a 5.25" gap with brackets or in a 3.5" slot.

Take out data cable, which is flat ribbon cable, attached to hard drive, then take out power attached.
