Previous to USB ports become standard on every PC you attached hardware like printer or gaming joystick, to PC through a sequence of serial ports on back of PC. Though, new controllers usually only attach to PC through USB port, thus if you have an older PC you want to convert game port to a USB port to utilize new game controller.

Instructions

1. Step 1

Connect game serial port adapter to game port. Ensure that adapter is pushed tightly to serial port or else controller is not going to work.

2. Step 2

Connect USB cable of game organizer to USB side of game port adapter.

3. Step 3

Put in driver installation disk in PC and follow the prompts to install driver, if one is necessary. Many new controllers, though, are plug-and-play, requiring no driver installation.

4. Step 4

Click "Start" next "Control Panel." Choose "Controllers" from the list of options.

5. Step 5

Choose controller you have attached to game port from top pull-down menu. This begins calibration procedure. Follow calibration prompts and finish your game controller setup.
