How to Delete the Password from Toshiba Tecra M2 BIOS

You can protect Toshiba Tecra M2 notebook by making a BIOS password you should enter each time PC starts. Password protecting BIOS avoids illegal users from getting into PC and modifying OS settings. You can delete password from BIOS if you do not require it anymore, but you should know existing BIOS password.


Instructions

1. Step 1

Boot Toshiba Tecra M2; enter BIOS password. Wait for PC to totally boot before continuing.

2. Step 2

Go to "Start" and select "Control Panel."

3. Step 3

Click "HWSetup" or "Toshiba Hardware Setup." The name may differ based on edition of setup wizard you have. If you do not have either icon, see Resources sector to download and install Toshiba Hardware Setup utility. The installation procedure is an automatic wizard.

4. Step 4

Select "Password" tab to view password settings.

5. Step 5

Select "Registered." Choose "BIOS" for password type. If you only have a BIOS password, this will be only choice.

6. Step 6

Enter current password when prompted. Push "Enter." Push "Enter" again for every "New Password" to delete current password. Close Toshiba Hardware Setup utility when completed.
