If you want to burn CD's or DVD's as copying them, save time or need an exterior DVD or CD drive in PC, follow these steps to install an exterior CD/DVD drive in PC.

Instructions

1. Step 1

Open up PCs Tower. This will be thing that connect in all cords too and power supply. All PCs are different but essentials are same, one end of tower must either open with screws, twist bolts or any kind of button.

2. Step 2

After PC is open find original CD/DVD drive. Ensure that connections on old one match the one that you are about too install.

3. Step 3

Now open front of tower, this can generally be done with few press down buttons near front of tower on inside of casing. The front of tower will probably be plastic it is what shows PC model and front connections and etc.

4. Step 4

Now below original CD/DVD drive you must have a vacant space covered by a metal gaurd. Remove the metal gaurd with whatever tool suites you now slide new CD/DVD drive into open space.

5. Step 5

Find connections that fit into CD/DVD drive, there are generally only two of them, one reading p5, p4, p6, or somewhat near to that, and other would be just a box like connection. They must be nearby to where you are inserting new drive, if not they are possibly attached to original drive.

6. Step 6

After attached protect your new drive by screwing on top of outer casing around new drive. It is not necessary but it is still a good idea.

7. Step 7

Now close up PC tower and attach all connections back to tower and turn it on, it must mechanically be detected and ready to go.
