Scanning and printing newspaper pictures can effect in good prints than original copy when digital imaging software is utilized. Scanned newspaper photos also last longer and are better choices for keepsakes like high school student's academic or athletic achievements, as newsprint fades and starts to yellow over time. A scanned picture stored on PC remains as crisp and clears as day it was printed in paper.
Instructions
1. Step 1
Turn on PC and scanner. Run software that came with scanner to show newspaper pictures on PC monitor as each is scanned.
2. Step 2
Raise the cover on scanner and put photo to be scanned face down on glass.
3. Step 3
Shut the cover and push "Scan" button on scanner control panel or click on "Scan" button using software that came with scanner.
4. Step 4
Click "Save As" button on scanner software when scanned photo shows on monitor. Open or make a new folder when "Save" menu appears.
5. Step 5
Select a file name for image and click "Save."
6. Step 6
Run digital imaging software like Adobe Photoshop, and open scanned photo into software.
7. Step 7
Fine-tune brightness, contrast, color and other features of photo to clean up and sharpen scanned image using digital imaging software.
8. Step 8
Save scanned photo once more below various name to differentiate among original scanned image and attuned image. E.g. a scanned photo named "John" might be attuned and saved as a second copy with name "John II."
9. Step 9
Print scanned photo by opening imaging software and clicking on photo to be printed. When photo shows in software, click "File" and then click "Print."
10. Step 10
Choose printer to be utilized and click "OK."
