CD writer drives utilize a laser to burn data onto a disc. The laser is focused through a lens that controls way the laser light bangs the permeable surface of blank, recordable CD disc. An unclean lens inhibits the appropriate performance of laser and can cause data errors or a total failure of disc to work. Cleaning the lens is not hard and will ensure that discs being burned will work properly.
