If forgotten Windows 2008 administrator password, can access the account by resetting password from a different account. The account can be a different administrator account or can be a Windows power user. A power user account is capable to log in to the server and reset the password of any account with administrator, so it can save a forgotten password. Resetting the administrator password can be accomplished remotely or on the server.
• Log in Windows server with a privileged account. This is needed to reset the administrator password, so the user can log in.
• Go to Start and open "Control Panel". Here select "User Accounts". A dialog window will come up with a list of all the users on network.
• Right click administrator user and open "Change Password." A dialog box will come up asking for new password.
• Enter new admin password in the box and check the password under confirmation box. Click "Ok" after completing and Log out.
• Type new password in login box and log in form the administrator username. This enables accessing admin account.
