XP permit to record audio using recording devices like audio interfaces and microphones. These devices are attached to USB slots, mic inputs and FireWire slots to permit contact with PC. After attach recording devices to PC and install software, you can simply choose which devices to allocate recording lines to. Achieve this easy task using XP sound and devices console.
Instructions
Step 1
Attach recording device like an audio interface to USB or FireWire port on PC and install needed drivers and software. This device contains installation disc to install drivers and software. Reboot PC when prompted to. If you are just using a microphone, attach it to microphone input on back of PC.
Step 2
Go to "Start" and tick "Control Panel." Tick "Sound, speech and audio devices," then select "Sound and audio devices" to run sound properties.
Step 3
Click on "Audio" tab. Choose audio interface attached to PC in "Sound Recording." Tick "Volume" to show recording control.
Step 4
Drag the slider below "Microphone" up or down to increase or decrease microphone volume. Click "Options" and select "Properties." Check all unchecked options in properties and tick "OK" to save modifications. Close the recording control.
Step 5
Tick "Voice" tab and choose audio interface or microphone attached to PC below "Sound Recording." Tick "OK" to save modifications.
