In a sell shop, a "barebone" PC is generally a case having a motherboard, CPU, RAM and a power supply. You should supply own storage devices, video card, optical drives, input devices, cables, monitor, speakers, and printer. If you are building a barebone PC manually, then you will possibly be choosing for included video, sound, and Ethernet, but other than that, this kind of system does not come jointly much differently than a more costly one.

Instructions

Step 1

Test voltage switch on back of case's power supply to ensure that it's set for region. North America and Japan utilize 110 or 115 volts. There is a switch on back to turn on power supply, but do not flick that one yet, nor connect power supply into a wall hole, for security causes.

Step 2

Connect CPU to motherboard now, earlier than place board in case. It will be much easier this way. CPU has a notch or marker on one corner that should align with a notch or marker on CPU slot on board. Beside that slot is a lever. Raise lever, place CPU in slot, and lower the handle. If handle not going down, CPU and slot not be aligned properly. Check motherboard manual for details, if need be. Connect CPU fan into near header on motherboard.

Step 3

Install RAM sticks in their slots on board, as placed in diagram in manual, with their gold "teeth" facing down. They will snap into place when safe. You must easiness sticks down gradually but tightly in a see-saw motion.

Step 4

Put in motherboard nerve argument screws on its tray in case. The tray is detachable. Then put motherboard on top of risers, and place case screws through already drilled holes in motherboard and into standoffs below. Attach power supply's motherboard cable.

Step 5

Install hard drive and DVD drive. Slide them into their bays, but be sure that face plate on front of case does not impede optical drive. The bays "tool-less." Or else, screw the drives into place and connect their power supply cables. Connect data cables from drives to motherboard headers. Check board manual for place of those headers, if require be. Connect interior wires coming from power and reset buttons to their headers on board.

Step 6

Connect exterior devices. Keyboard and mouse are possibly USB and can so connect to USB port. Connect monitor's signal cable to video device port, and power cable and case's power cable. Flip power switch on and press power button.
