Changing Inverter in Dell Inspiron laptops is a procedure that needs handling of tiny parts. It also needs ability to change those parts in appropriate order. These commands are intended for Dell Inspiron 9400 inverter, but this procedure must also work for other models.

Instructions

Step 1

Divide front bezel from display cover. Bezel is plastic casing that houses screen. For this, firstly remove all eight seals placed on front. Six of them are red; other two are green. Utilize a sharp object to pry every one off and put them anywhere safe. You must now see eight small screws.

Step 2

Take out screws and start cautiously detaching display cover from front bezel. This is where you can utilize a thin object to help divide them. Be sure to utilize something that is not sharp, or you will risk injuring screen.

Step 3

Take out screws that hold LCD screen in place. There must be four on every side.

Step 4

Pull LCD screen ahead gradually until you can see cable behind it. Be alert not to pull LCD cable from motherboard. With screen resting on keyboard, press latches on sides of cable until it slides loose. Take out other end of the cable from inverter board.

Step 5

Remove one screw that protects inverter to metal casing. On bottom of LCD screen, detach backlight cable. Remove inverter and change it with latest one by reversing procedure of removing old one.
