Attaching exterior hard drives to PC will really expand storage capacity of system as permitting data portability by detaching drive and taking it to other PC. Many exterior hard drives attach with USB cable. Dell laptops and desktop PCs are usually made with at least four USB ports, so systems have much connectivity for expansion. Hooking up two hard drives on a Dell takes only a minute.
Instructions
Step 1
Shut down PC.
Step 2
Attach USB cables to open ports on Dell. On Dell desktop PCs, USB ports are placed on back of CPU, which is important part for PC. On Dell laptops, two USB ports are placed on back right edge of PC, with two extra ports on the right edge.
Step 3
Attach remaining end of every cable to USB port on back of hard drives.
Step 4
Turn on PC and stay for "New Hardware Detected" message to show.
Step 5
Go to "Start", then select "My Computer" and stay for an information window to open.
Step 6
Find two hard drives fond of to system and make a label for every force so you can differentiate between them.
Step 7
Tag every hard drive by positioning pointer over icon in My Computer box and pushing right-hand button on mouse, then tick Rename.

Step 9
Save information to drives by Save As in software. Displaying all hard drives attached to Dell menu emerges. Click drive for saving data and push save button.
