HP LaserJet 1200 is a sequence of compact laser jet monochrome printers. Initially priced less than $400, 1200 series was clearly marketed to SOHO (small office, home office) market. In spite of its status for generating quality products, 1200 series is not protected to similar problems that disease other printers. These contain connection problems, printer hardware errors and problems on PC connected to printer.

Non-upgradable

1. As 1200 series was marketed as a no-nonsense laser printer without any additional bells and whistles, its upgrade choices were strictly restricted. Aside from a standard 8MB of RAM, there are no upgrades for printer. Its output is restricted to legal (8.5" x 14") and slighter media, and there are no choices obtainable for including a second paper tray beyond standard 250-sheet capacity tray.

Connectivity issues

2. General printer problem that users face is a connection problem generally a disconnected cable. Two of three printers in series depend on either a parallel or USB cable attached straight to PC. The 1200n was a network-ready model, able to be attached straight to an Ethernet network. A detached cable is frequently reason, although a diagnosing an off-line networked printer can be a bit harder to mixture, though you must verify PC is online and attached to proper network if you have trouble printing.

Printer hardware problems

3. General problem on printer itself is dust that builds up on rollers, avoiding them from correctly feeding paper. A cotton swab and alcohol are best method to repair this state. The other method to avoid printer problems is to blow out inside using a can of forced air on a regular basis. Foreign objects wedged in unit can destroy inner workings of any printer, so maintaining appropriate printer hygiene is also an excellent anticipatory measure.

Computer problems

4. PC problems that can simply be solved contain a jammed print queue with damage print drivers. Deleting a block in print queue is a easy repair; both Mac and Windows users can highlight document in print queue and press "Delete" key. Again installing drivers is also simple repair, and is achieved by using original media that came with printer, or downloading new drivers online. Though, a injured port on PC is a more serious problem, like physically broken printer, a PC professional is best suited to hold it.

Warning

5. However many printer problems are eagerly solvable, there are few cases that you should not try to repair, containing a burst toner cart, which generates very fine dirt in printer. Also, there are many razor-sharp parts hidden in many printers, and also some parts tend to obtain very hot, so permit a printer to completely cool off before touching any of parts inside.
