Thread: Mac Pro shuts down

I have a Mac Pro which has Mac OS X 10.5.3 OS on it. Recently the Mac Pro has started giving strange problem. Every time the system is started, it works fine for some time and then it all of a sudden shuts down. Once shutting down I cannot start it for some time after that it starts normally when the power button is pushed. It is very irritating that the Mac Pro shuts down all of a sudden. Any help.

It could be because of few installed application. Some applications have leaky codes which cause memory leakage in the system. The processes of such applications take up lot of system memory and CPU usage. If the CPU and memory usage rises beyond limit then the system has no other option left than to shut it down. From the apple menu, open the activity monitor and check for the processes which are taking up lot of memory and CPU. Terminate such processes which are not use and after that see if the machine shutdown itself.

Hi try to use Protemac Netmine. I have Leopard and use it for control network activity and as firewall. I haven't any problem with my Mac.
