    Default Memory modules

My Mac Pro motorized by Intel Quad core with 8GB RAM. Now Mac OS is upgraded to Mac OS X 10.6 but then on PC unusual error occurs and also memory linked error message appears. The system prompt that is loading a sub best configuration in which only 2GB ram is detected. The additional Ram chips are not detected by the machine. I cannot figure out if the problem is due to the OS upgrade or firmware update because I performed both the updates on same day. Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

    1) A lot of the problems of the Mac systems are resolved by doing a PRAM reset. If the machine is unable to access the system RAM correctly it can be because of the invalid entries get saved in the RAM. If the RAM gets flooded with the unwanted entries then you will have to clear the RAM manually. To clear the unwanted entries you will have to do PRAM reset. To do PRAM reset.

    1. Place and discover the following keys (Apple, Option, R and P)

    2. Press and hold the following keys at the same time as pressing the power button.

    3. Keep the keys pressed till three startup chimes are heard.

    4. Release the keys when the 3rd startup ring is heard and after that let the system boot normally, check if all the RAM is detected by the system or not.
