Thread: Problem with Q9550 Multiplier

There is problem with my Intel Quad 9550 processor. By default it must run on multiplier of 8.5 but for few reasons it continues dropping to multiplier of 6. I see this problem when I ran 3DMarkVantage and anticipated higher CPU score. I then ran CPU-Z and seen multiplier modifying from 8.5 to 6 and back. So tell me what is problem with my multiplier and how to solve it.

It is power saving characteristic. It jumps to 8.5 when loaded and maintain at 6 when idle. I suggest OCCT be set for custom time frame of ten minutes to do trial and error checking as it generally fail in that time frame if it's unstable system.

It is must be in CPU settings. This problem can be solved by setting function "CPU Margin Enhancement" from "optimized" to "performance".
