If you have got susceptible files exist in on a specific drive or partition and often have multiple people passing through your system, you may want to hide the drive from view. Hiding the drive removes the drive from Windows Explorer, as if it doesn’t available. The user can still access these hidden files by entering the direct path into the Windows Explorer file path.
Instructions
• Start>>type cmd>>open command prompt. For Windows XP, choose "Run.” from the Start menu and type "cmd" in the "Run" window
• Type "diskpart" and press "Enter" to launch the DiskPart command-line application. Type "list volume" to list all the connected drives and partitions.
• Type "select volume #" (enter the number of the drive you would like to hide) and press Enter.
• Type "remove letter ABC"--using the related letter of the drive you would like to hide--and hit Enter. Quit the Command Prompt. If you open Windows Explorer, you will observe the drive is no longer listed. You can still access the drive by typing "ABC:" into the Windows Explorer file path (using the removed drive letter).
