You may have to have experienced your computer regularly hangs activity, or may restart itself for no apparent reason. This can be irritating and may mean that you have lost valuable work that you have us in the process of creation. If it happened once, then your chances of explaining the reasons are far to the extreme. If you find this happens regularly, it is clear that in your best interest to find and fix the problem.
There are several things that you can check for yourself that can save you a trip to the repair shop. In most modern computers, the system comes with built-in circuit for monitoring the state of the computer. One of the checks built into your system for checking the working temperature. Computer shut down when it moves beyond the desirable range.
For your computer to work at the right temperature is important that the air pass on freely in and around the case. If you have a computer case installed inside the case, then this may be the first thing to consider changing. Also, I have seen computers covered books, manuals and paper documents. Again, this may obstruct air circulation, and these issues should be removed.
Look at the slots in the sides of the shell. These slots can be blocked by the accumulation of dust. Since the computer is usually always drawing some power, it has a permanent electrostatic charge. The computer is in second place the vacuum cleaner in its ability to suck up dust and fluff.
Taking cover the event will also show accumulations of dust inside the computer. Be careful when removing dust accumulation on the internal components. Perhaps this is best done with a soft artist's brush or aerosol can of compressed air.
Then, look at the internal cooling fans. Modern systems usually contain a cooling fan placed at the top of the processor. This part should be clear of dust, and move freely, without any observable scraping noises when the computer is running. It's OK to start the computer with the case cover removed, just be careful not to poke things into different components.
There will also be a cooling fan inside, or attached to a power source. This again should be free from dust and move freely. Some computers may also have an additional fan case. This will be screwed over one of the slots of the case, and usually works from the cable connected to the motherboard. Not all machines have a separate fan case, but if it is, it exists not in vain. Apply the same test of the fan.
If you find a problem with fans, this may require a trip to your local repair shop. Technique for repair may also assume that the processor heat sink to be removed and re-connect with freshly ground heat transfer, which is just a job for an experienced repair.
