Default Merging unassigned space with primary partition

I have Sony Vaio with 40GB HDD split evenly among C: and D: partitions. In this I stored all my data on D drive. So before removing partition I back up all my data on D: drive. But now I can't merge unallocated space with primary drive. So please tell me how to merge unallocated space with Primary Drive? Any help will be appreciated.

This task completed with help of PC management in PC management tools. If you are in PC Management then right click on drive you want to use and select Extend Volume. There are options for unallocated space. Now click next and then after both partitions of disk merged and converts into basic drive.

For this follow the steps given below:

    1. Select partition from Disk Map.

    2. Access Resize/Move Partition dialog to explain configuration. There are many methods for it:

Select from Main menu: Partitions > Resize / Move

Access popup menu for select partition on Disk Map then select menu item: Resize / Move.

    3. Explain parameters of operation with Resize/Move Partition dialog.

    4. Action done now after verification.

Default partition wizard tech you how to merge partition

Step one: Select partition you like to expand from the partition list. This partition will be expanded to include all content from the adjacent partition which will be selected in the second step.
Step two: Select an adjacent partition that will be merged to the previous partition. All data of this partition will be merged to the expanding partition that selected in the first step.

Step three: Choose a name for the new folder.

The drive E will be expanded to 139.54 GB. And the data of drive F will be stored to the e:\merged_partition_content.
