Thread: I am planning to buy a new PC

I am planning to buy a new PC. My applications will be mostly gaming and using engineering software for my studies. I have shortlisted the Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 and AMD Athlon X2 7750 BE (Black Edition). Budget is not an issue and anyway Intel is costlier than AMD by Rs 2,000. I am looking to build a better performance computer as it would be a one-time investment. Can you please help me with both the processors according to their performance?

The Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 is clearly a better option than the AMD Athlon X2 7750 Black Edition. Also consider the AMD Phenom II X2 550 which costs approximately as much as the Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 and it can also perform better than it.
