Default I have a problem in my desktop PC

I have a problem in my desktop PC whose configuration is ASUs P5sD2-VM motherboard, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM, sis Mirage 3 Graphics and HED HL17W 17-inch monitor. Sometimes while working on the computer, a Blue Screen of Death (BsOD) appears, and a message appears - "Beginning Dump of Physical Memory". Below the message there is either a timer or a counter and starts counting for a few minutes. I then press the reset button of my computer as there is no other response from it. I am very anxious to know the reason and because of this problem many a times my work is not saved or gets corrupted. What could be the problem? How can I solve it? Another problem in my PC is that the Icons displayed on the monitor have a little blur effect on the right side of every icon. The blur effect is with each and every Icon displayed on the monitor, whether It Is a cursor or any other icon of a folder or a file. What could be the problem here? Please help I Thanks and Regards.

The BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) is a common problem with machines which are not maintained well enough. The problem could either be a dirty motherboard or memory chip, loosely connected cables of the hard drive or power supply, dirty PSU or CPU fans, virus infected operating systems and files, hard drive with bad sectors or fragments, etc. Check if the system is infected with viruses-use good antivirus and antispyware programs to scan and clean your system from any infections. Ensure that your system hardware is completely clean from inside the cabinet. To do this, open the cabinet and clean out the dust from all components. Ensure that you have removed all the components (graphics card, memory modules, CPU and fan, any other PCI card you may have) and clean the contact points thoroughly using IPA (Isopropyl alcohol) solution petrol available at any computer hardware store. BSODs can also be caused by corrupted system files and drivers. Check if your system drivers are up to date. Install the latest updates and service pack for your operating system. Run a thorough scan on your hard drive to get rid of allocation errors and bad sectors. Finally defrag your hard drive once every two to three weeks. Your system should work fine. As far as the blur effect on your system is concerned, check if it gets solved by changing the theme under Windows. Also check if the monitor is set to a supporting resolution. Install the drivers for your monitor to get rid of incompatible resolution modes.
