Default Homebuilt intel P4 3.0 GHz Will not Boot?

Hello:I have a intel P4 3.0 GHz 1GB ram Intel MB Chipset d865gbf homebuilt computer. It has worked fine for 3 years. It just stopped working tonight. It system when turned on just hangs. It does not appear to POST. Their are no BIOS error beeps. I see no cpu info screen. I did a minimum boot (CPU, RAM, Video Card, Keyboard) with the same results. I did remove the ram to test the board and I heard 3 beeps. But once I replaced the RAM I heard no beeps and it still just hangs their. I also swaped Hard Drives with another one that I know works with the same results. I also attempted to reset the BIOS via the onboard jumper. If anyone has any advise of help please do so. thanks.I removed the video card ATI RADEON 9600 and still the same response. The only problem is the OB Video doesn't support DVI and I can't find a VGA cable for the monitor. I still do not here the POST beep so I am 98% sure that it is not posting.

    It's the power supply.

You're doing all the right things. I would swap out the video card or revert to the MB video. I have a stack of old cards just for this purpose. Remember many of the high-performance GPU cards are pressed pretty hard and can fail. Yes, I would test the PS but if it beeps with no memory, I would doubt that it has failed. Get a $15 PS tester--an essential tool for a system builder. Good luck.

You've got a good start on trouble shooting it. The three beeps without memory and no beeps with memory tell me that the CPUs probably ok. You can try it with memory and no video card. If it gives the "no video" beep I'd start looking at the motherboard or power supply.I'd look at the caps (capacitors, things that look like cans) are any domed or swollen? The power supply is easiest to change out. If you don't have a spare see if someone will loan you one to try.Good Luck

beeps says power supply is probably OK, and your minimal start attempt ruled out many components, I would try a new video card just to see what happens at this point... if that don't work, try on a different port. That may require a different kind of graphix card(a pci, not agp card or whatever you have...) Good luck, sounds like you've done some good extensive TS already
