Default Slow scrolling across pictures. Is the video card or cpu/?

I notice when I use the Windows (XP) picture preview function if I use the mouse wheel to enlarge the picture (resolution of the pic is larger than screen rez) moving across or up and down the image is very slow/choppy. If I hit the scroll arrows I only move 1 pixel at a time which I guess is the default (which is crazy) so I grab the scroll bar and move that but if it'd not a low-rez image the movement isn't smooth at all. If it's something like a 800x600 image it scrolls nice and quick but digital maera images are not. Is it my video card? My cpu? The monitor? Ram? What?My system:HomebuiltMSI K8 mbAMD Athlon 64 X2 2.2 GHz2 Gb ramGeforce 6600 256Mb ramOlevia HD LCD TV @1280X720 60Hz

ur specs are way more than adequate ... either somthing is eating up ur resources or there is some type of driver or codec conflict ... or possibly since its homebuilt the bios settup for timings and speeds for hardware is wrong ... if it was me i would doublecheck bios settup and make sure everything is right ... then i would try updating drivers and making sure i didnt have a bug on the machine .. then maybe uninstall any apps that may be causing a conflict .. then maybe think about backing up and reformatting ..

Hi Amigajoe, It sounds like your Video card is OK. CPU is OK but don't forget the the AMD that you have is actually 1.1 ghz that is just the name that makes it a 2.2 nothing like the Intel processor so good luck with this one but try your Buddy's monitor before buying one just to check it out.. I would probably go with the fact that your using a TV as the monitor....Bob.
