Belkin causing 100% PC utilization. Why?

First off, if you answer BELKIN SUCKS or GET A NEW CARD, you will get thumbs down. Just keep quiet and move along. Now that the riff-raff is taken care of, I have a question for a change: My homebuilt XP machine is running, we got DSL hooked in, and after two dats of operation, it starts ramping my CPU Utilization in Task Manager to 100%, no matter what I do when I'm on a wireless connection.I eliminated the following possibilities:-- Driver: Version 1 does this, Version 7 (newest) does this.-- Hotfix: Microsoft has no reports on this problem. Even if I could generate one, my PC is NOT CRASHING, and even if it did, I can't transmit if I'm offline. (I got this system used, so Tech Support is going to cost 57 dollar a pop.)-- I have a UPS on my system: no surges or spikes have occured (I'd hear it if they did.)-- Trojan Horse/Malware: Opened up a brand new hard drive and reinstalled XP. Still doing it.-- No other programs on my PC are installed.I will add details as suggestions arise. This is a Belkin Wireless G Card, model F5D7000. I bought it in September 2006.-- No program or process is taking 100% in Task Manager.-- I installed XP on a new hard drive (shrinkwrap and all), then the driver from the Manufacturer CD. Still did it. I don't believe a virus is involved.-- I will try the card in another PC this week.

Of course I could be wrong..it could be a virus. I use a belkin, and I have never had an issue with it. Interesting question though, will be intrigued by the answer.

You could have a bad card, there is absolutly NOTHING wrong with Belkin, but it seems to me as if you have tried the majority of the good options. I am assuming that since you are using a wifi card you have another PC so try the card in it

Exactly what is taking the 100% of the cpu? Knowing what the program is would help narrow it down a little bit.
