Gradually, the pieces begin to fit together to form the framework always dreamed of. I know what I'm about to tell you it was already possible for some time, and it is still feasible in many ways. What really interests me is the integration of the solution that I am experiencing the incredible ease of use. I'm talking about the Digital Home as well as Apple has designed, with a design that is clearly still incomplete. we believe it is not a technical post, or geeks, because it is exactly the opposite.
I bought last week all the components that have allowed me to build with a disarming ease the heart of my digital home. At the heart because the body extensions are yet to come.
First I took the new WiFi based Apple Airport Extreme Base Station (or AEBS). I already had a WiFi based Apple (I'll explain how I re-used) but the new AEBS has two key features that make it the de facto center of a Digital Home. Firstly, the new protocol supports WiFi 802.11n, has three antennas and uses MIMO to transmit multiple data streams simultaneously.
In other words AEBS has a much broader and goes up to 5 times faster than the fastest existing WiFi to date. And this is something that I experienced with great pleasure. But what makes AEBS is phenomenal support Hard Disk: it is possible to connect to the USB port that is attached to one external hard drives that are made available to any PC or Mac to your WiFi network.
I got a LaCie 1TB and a medium that has a storage capacity of remarkable. For the record, and for future reference, the operation has cost me a total of just over 700 euro, including VAT. Definitely a lot but in my opinion not so much for what they are finally able to obtain.
