When the actual Eee Computer was largely famous for being extremely cheap and having a diminutive 7inch display size, many complained that the 800x480 display was so little and the Eight GB of hard drive space only so limiting.

In build from May 1st in the UK, Asus will free the first major replan of the actual Eee; the Eee Computer 900. It characteristics a bugger 8.9” LED backlit screen with a 1024x600 resolution. There’s also the similar underclocked Intel Celeron-M ULV 353 central processing unit (630MHz) and a G945 mobile chipset that characteristics Intel GMA 900 graphics.

It too arrives with One GB DDRII as standard this time, which is double that of the actual Eee, and among Twelve and 20GB of flash memory – 4GB on board and 8-to-16GB from a classify example. It even weighs without than 1kg but it is

fractionally heavier than the last example. In addition, it characteristics an upgraded 1.3MP webcam, but the similar 4 cell, 2.5 hour battery and 802.11b/g WiFi.

Another cool characteristic is the Macbook Air-esque (I just died inside) multi-touch trackpad, so you can utilize 2 fingers to zoom and scroll. When the scroll functions in all, the zoom process is recently limited to functions, StarSuite VIII and Adobe Reader.

There is too a fresh OS choice: Windows XP Home. That will create the additional storage and memory evaporate, although it is just open to a wealth of other software and more instantly known to non-Linux users. Added in the package are Microsoft functions, Intervideo Digital Video Disc XPack and Sun StarSuite. The trouble with the XP edition is that despite the bigger display answer, you even have to scroll up and down the desktop – that is not ideal.
