Seagate has launched the 2008 lineup of its FreeAgent external hard drives. The new line-up includes desktop and mobile options, for both Mac and Windows-based PCs.
FreeAgent Go has a docking option, providing a practical way to move from the desk to the road, while eliminating the hassle of fumbling with cables and locating USB ports. This external hard drive has capacity of up to SOO GB, starting from 2S0, GB. The 500GB FreeAgent and XTreme are 8.9cm desktop drives, providing up to 1.5 TB of storage and USB 2.0 interface. The XTreme comes vyith eSATA, USB 2.0 and FireWire'400 interfaces, The l.5TB Desk and Xtreme drives.
The FreeAgent Go for Mac and FreeAgent Desk for Mac are both formatted for use with Mac OS X out of the box and are Time Machine ready with FireWire800/400 or USB 2.0 con¬nectivity. The Go for Mac (320GB) is available. while the Desk for Mac (l.5TB).
