With this initiative, Airtel hopes to increase computer and broadband penetration. This online desktop platform will make computing more accessible to 5MBs, SMEs and SOHOs as well as individual customers of Airtel broadband.
The Online Desktop provides access to a personal virtual desktop from any computer connected to the internet for Airtel broadband customers. This service will be available to Airtel broadband customers across 95 cities in the country, and will be backed by 24 x 7 customer care from Airtel.
The Online Desktop will provide 5GB space to each customer for storing documents, photos, music, presentations, and software at a central place with an anti-virus protection to make them secure. The data can be accessed from anywhere, anytime.
The prices for Airtel Online Desktop will start from where customer will get 5GB of online storage space. And at per month for the Retail Pack, customers get 5GB of online storage space, free anti virus protection, Windows based operating system, automatic backup, and accessibility from anywhere in the world. Specially-tailored Professional and Business Packs are also available at and per month, respectively that provide a Windows-based operating system and MS Office suite.
