A group of hackers are recently targeting software security firms specialising in computer security. The blog of the group recently claimed three of their victims:
Finland-based F-Secure, Kaspersky Labs in Russia, and a Romanian security software seller BitDefender. The hackers are using an SQL attack that injects malicious code through weakness in a data level of a software application, according to F-Secure. Such attacks can be used to steal infOimation from the system to make it make more vulnerable.
The official blog of the famous F-Secure has admitted the fact that their web sites has been attacked including the successful ones. The company claimed that they have taken necessary defence in-depth strategies to get rid of it. According to the company the hackers were only able to access statistics about malicious software that the company routinely makes public.
The cyber intruders could read the data but couldn't alter it, according to F-Secure.
Kaspersky Lab said in an online post that it detected and fended off an attack on the official website for its US office.
