According to the study of International Energy Agency (International Energy Agency, IEA) power devices such as computers, mobile phones and televisions, can be reduced by more than 50% through the use of energy saving technologies. Agency IEA is an autonomous international body within the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), which advises on energy 28 countries, including the United States and France.
Despite the fact that the share of consumer electronics devices now account for only about 15% of all electricity, the number of various home electronics is growing rapidly. IEA calls on governments to pursue policies that will make the TVs, laptops, mobile phones and other appliances more energy efficient. IEA cited statistics according to which no energy policy energy consumed by home electronics to grow to 2022 in two times, and by 2030 three-fold. According to Nobuo Tanaka (Nobuo Tanaka), the executive director of IEA, the energy consumed by users, compared with industrial and energy costs for heating of living quarters, and greatly affects the environment.
According to the IEA, to be more actively to reduce the power consumption of devices. For example, new devices need to consume energy only when needed, and not just when you are connected to the network, as many older models.
Tanaka reported some improvements in this regard, approved manufacturers producing modern communicators, laptops and other mobile devices that spend far less energy and are able to operate without charging significantly more than the first of such models.
