Chinese Internet users are going to boycott the internet 24 hours. Would express a massive protest against a controversial government users of Internet-filtering technology, which officials consider a necessary and required to include it in the set of all computers and other devices with the possibility to access the Internet, sold in the country.
The Chinese Government and the company that created the software Green Dam have argued that this tool can be completely disabled, and that it is designed solely to filter pornography. However, critics of the project, of course, suggest that the Green Dam, likely would allow the State to spy for the users and track their activity on the network. Defenders argue that the present government censorship and businessmen are worried that because of this software have a large number of legal issues related to intellectual property, privacy, etc.
It is unlikely that a protest would cause a response from the government. The Chinese government rarely takes into account the views of its people.
