Menlow will support Windows 7

Intel platform, code-named Menlow will support operating system Windows 7, at least two of its variants. The manufacturer told its partners that Menlow will support Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Home Basic.

Operating system Windows 7 Home Basic will be available only in selected regions, and Menlow-based device with this OS can be an excellent solution for these markets. In addition, platform may be interested in producing netbook and thin notebooks, as well as compact and light mobile Internet devices (MID).

Companies Dell, Acer, MSI and Sony have already demonstrated their models on the basis of netbook platform Menlow. These devices provide a large enough time offline. Intel believes that in 2010 will be even more producers, which will begin production on the basis of the MID platform, the main advantage of which is low power consumption and therefore long battery life.
