Oracle increases prices on database options

Oracle has clearly made a number of ways to manage the cost of the flagship database of 40 percent, according to official price list. Processor permits the company's diagnostic and adjustment package, and a configuration management database package, is 5000 U.S. dollars, higher than the U.S. Dollar three five listed price list.

First of all, these two products designed to help database administrator goals and resolve performance issues. The latter is a tool for a wide range of tasks, such as tracking database configuration changes, and to ensure compliance with policies.

At the same time, the processor permits the Oracle Database Enterprise Edition is still the price of the 500 U.S. dollars, followed by about 20 per cent increase last year.

It is unclear whether there are other Oracle products on today, have seen prices. A spokesman for the company failed to respond immediately.

It is also not clear, when increased, but the impact of lower prices is the price list Oracle announced its latest price list on the company's Web site, but normally not announced that there were changes. Forrester Research analyst Ray Wang said that his company began to review the latest price list changes, the sudden expansion of the source of rumors in recent days.

Although very few customers actually paid the price of the software to increase the discount Nevertheless negotiations to raise the starting point, and may undermine the customer to buy a new permit, even if in the face of a global recession.

But there may also be another game afoot. By raising the price of permits, suppliers such as Oracle may only be catering the needs of enterprise IT purchasing managers, who are well under the pressure of the treatment, and for their employers, their compensation may be subject to the level of discount they receive a supply of business, he said.

Speaking of time for negotiations, the supplier agreed to steep discount is now high-priced products, to create a "win-win" situation for both sides, Wang said. This is a potential problem, the IT organization, Wang said. "If you only focus on procurement, and then you are not focused on products strategy."
