Mozilla, the developer of open source web browser claimed that the new version of Firefox was downloaded by 150 million users in a single day. The statistics followed Apple's claim that Safari 4 had been downloaded by 11 million users in first three days of its release.

Interestingly Apple claimed a few days before that Safari 4 is the fastest available Web browser in the world. According to the Apple's official blog, Safari 4 is eight times faster than Internet Explorer 8 and four times faster than Firefox 3. They have also claimed that it can download web pages three times faster than Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3 respectively.

Online Photo editor Firefox 3.0.11 was released last month focusing mainly on security and stability updates. These two releases followed the release of lnternet Explorer 8 Release Candidate, which was a major update from the previous version due to its new security features and add-on availability. However, these simultaneous releases can give a new impact on Brower War. Interestingly Internet Explorer continues to dominate the global browser market, followed by Firefox and then Safari.
