Company NVIDIA recently introduced ray tracing engine OptiX, which, as the manufacturer states, is the world's first engine, interactive ray tracing using the GPU.

OptiX engine provides programmable ray tracing, which allows developers to easily reach a new level of realism in their applications using traditional programming in C. OptiX can be applied in many fields, including photo-rendering, an exact reproduction of automobiles, acoustic design, optical simulation, the tedious calculations and research.

In the application for expedited processing of graphics NVIDIA, presented at the Siggraph 2009 exhibition are:
• Engine nVidia Optix, which provides ray tracing in real time;
• Engine nVidia SceniX to manage data and 3D positioning;
• Engine nVidia CompleX for distribution calculations for a variety of GPU;
• 64-bit engine nVidia PhysX, providing real-time processing of hyper-realistic effects.
