Intel is getting all set to quadruple the storage on its best ever SSD drive, the X25-E.
The X25-E is an SLC drive as well as comes actually quick but it at present it only exists as 32GB or 64GB drive. As there are no plans for former generation 34nm Y25-E drives, you will have to remain awaiting Q2 2010 to spot these larger drives. Intel plans to launch 128GB with a huge 256GB SLC drive.
We consider that they will end up very exclusive, but if you require performance as well as outstanding write as well as read times, this will be the gadget for you. The present generation in 50nm, as well as it delivers up to 250MB read along with up to 170MB write, so the next generation of 34nm drives should be even quicker but we still don’t make out the numbers.
